Pila

Pila is one of the biggest resort in Aosta Valley, it covers an area of 12 km2 and 70 km of pistes which extended in altitude from 1.540 to 2.750 meters. Pila is famous for its winter sports. There are more than 24 pistes, including 4 blue runs, 29 red runs and 4 black runs, with a pipe zone and a slopestyle zone. There is one cable car, 3 gondolas, 8 chairlifts and 5 conveyors. The town is located in the Alps near to some notable major mountains such as Mont Blanc and Mattherhorn.

Once pila was covered in pastures and alpine huts. Summer tourism began in Pila at the start of the twentieth century which involved socalled resort holidays. In fact, during the summer its pastures are covered with mountain flowers, offering tourists plenty of fun and hobbies: you can take indicated pathways, suitable for families and expert walkers, routes with can also be completed on horseback or mountain bike.
